General FAQs

What the process like when I work with Her Brand?

1

Every business is different and I won’t try to fit everyone into one box. I have a very sophisticated Client Portal that helps is to move through the process whether you are a web design client or a brand photo client. It helps to keep us organized, on task and in communication. I designed the client portal myself so it is very specific to hone in on your needs to get your project completed, as well as empower you once the project is complete. For more details on the process, check out The Process page where more details are mentioned.

How do I get started?

2

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form! An investment guide will be emailed to you so there are no surprises, and we will schedule a quick call to connect about some details. I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

How far in advance do I need to book?

3

This will largely depend on the time of year and what my current project load consists of. For web design- I would say to get in touch and we can talk about the scope of your project to see when we would both be ready to start. You will have a good bit of your own contributions to make in order for me to have all the information I need to design your site. So it’s crucial that the timing is right for you too! For brand photos- I can generally get you on the calendar within a few weeks- there is some pre planning we do ahead of the session so we want to allow enough time to make sure we have a clear plan going into your photo day.

Do you travel outside of the Emerald Coast?

4

I can work Web Design project from anywhere! My client portal makes this super easy and efficient. For brand photography, travel to PCB and 30A is included. Destin, Mexico Beach, Pensacola, Freeport etc will have additional travel fees.

What if I’m not sure exactly what I need yet?

5

That’s what a consultation is for! We can figure that out together and I can help guide you based on your ideas and my experience!

Are payment plans available?

6

For brand photos– a 50% non refundable deposit is required to get on my calendar. Then your final payment is due 24 hours after your session for post processing to begin.

For website design– a 50% non refundable deposit is required to begin your project. From there 25% will be due after the second revision. And the final balance will be due once your website is ready for launch, and before ownership is transferred to you.

A monthly payment option is available for website design and will be specific to your project.

Web Design FAQs

What platform do you build websites on?

1

I build exclusively on Squarespace, which gives you a polished, professional site you can easily maintain yourself once it’s live.

Do I need to provide my own website copy?

2

The choice is yours! However I am not a Copywriter. If you elect for me to write your copy, I will try to use your voice to add the appropriate copy to your site where it needs to be based on my knowledge and experience.

How long does a web design project take, start to finish?

3

The timeline of your project is based on many factors. We will discuss a timeline that works best for you based on your need and your ability to complete all the pre-build tasks you’ll need to do in order for me to have all the tools to build your site. If you need a quick turnaround- it’s an option!

How many rounds of revisions are included?

4

One-Two rounds of revisions are included (depending on your package) and then from there it will be minor tweaks. If you need more revisions, that can be accomplished for an additional fee. The more thorough you are with your pre-build questionnaire, the more clarity I will have when designing.

Will my site be mobile-friendly?

5

YES! Every site is designed and tested to look and function beautifully on mobile, tablet and desktop.

Do you handle domain and hosting setup?

6

If you don’t already have it set up, yes! It will be setup directly through Squarespace. If you have it set up elsewhere, we will work together to get it connected to Squarespace.

Will my website be SEO friendly?

7

YES! Basic SEO work for titles and descriptions will be done for you. However I am not an SEO expert, so if you want to guarantee the best search results, I suggest you consult with an expert once your site has launched.

What happens after my site launches?

8

This is where things get exciting because you are ready to show the world your work! Once final payments are made, I will get the ownership of your site transferred to your name. You can choose to leave me on as an administrator so that I can jump in and help you anytime you need me.

Can I update the site myself after it’s built?

9

YES! Squarespace is designed to be user-friendly, which is why I choose to build here. I want you to have the power over your own website, so you aren’t forced into paying monthly retainers. I know low monthly expenses are important for small business owners. After your design is complete, you receive an extensive guide on how to manage your site yourself as well as a one hour lesson with me to learn your way around the functionality.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance after launch?

10

YES! If you don’t want to hassle with the maintenance or website additions, like monthly blogs, we can set up a monthly retainer package that fits your specific needs.

Brand Photography FAQs

How should I prepare for my session?

1

You will get immediate access to your Client Portal and in there you will find a pre-shoot checklist as well as a full guide that goes over wardrobe, hair and makeup, props locations, and shot-lists. You will feel fully prepared once the day of your shoot arrives!

Do you offer hair and make-up?

2

I have a few wonderful hair and make-up artists that I love to refer for your shoot day glam! If you can’t afford the added expense, I have plenty of tips for you to follow as part of your pre-shoot client guide.

Where do sessions take place?

3

If you have your own space you always work in, it’s best to capture you in that environment to keep your images as authentic as possible. If you don’t have a specific location, we will chat about what will work best to capture the story we are trying to tell through your photos.

What happens if weather doesn’t cooperate on the day of the shoot?

4

Great question! In Florida we are used to chaotic weather. If we are shooting outdoors, we will decide no more than 24 hours before your session if we need to reschedule. For weather complications, you will not be charged a rescheduling fee. It’s also important to consider, if you have hair and makeup scheduled for an outdoor location- you will need to follow your stylists/artists cancelation and rescheduling policy. A session will not be forced in bad weather just to avoid hair and makeup complications.

Will I own the rights to my images.?

5

When you book a session with Her Brand, you're licensing the use of your images — not purchasing the copyright outright. We retain photographic copyright, similar to how licensing works with stock footage or music: what you're purchasing is full commercial usage rights, meaning you're free to use your images across your website, social media, marketing, and print materials. These rights are for your business's use — images can't be resold, sublicensed, or transferred for someone else's use. We also retain the right to feature your images in our own portfolio and marketing, so the beautiful work we create together can help tell both our stories.

Do I get raw, unedited files?

6

The images we deliver are curated and edited to match the same look and feel across your entire brand- your website, your marketing, everything. Raw files don’t go through that process, so we don’t release them; what you receive is the final, cohesive version built to represent you well.

How long does turn-around take for the photos?

7

I will have your images ready to go for you within one week of your session. If you need a rushed delivery, we can arrange that for an added fee.
