Ginger, Zingiber officinale, is a part of the Zingiberacaea family and originates from Southeast Asia,in spite of the fact that it is developed around the world. Now for the natural commercial blends preservatives, such the ginger is considering an important ingredient in cosmetic products for skin, body and hair products. Rumours said that ginger helps products to have an extended shelf life but that not yet proven by scientific studies.

Ginger is safe to be used in any health remedy and cosmetics because it helps to  prevent the growth of unwanted microbes. However, they need to be efficient over the pH range and not cause any unwanted aroma or change to the product as a whole.
